Coding Contest for Kids
We organized Code It 2.0, an exciting coding contest for kids by eduSeed! Following the success of our previous event, we got back with even more challenges and opportunities for young minds to compete and showcase their coding skills.
Imagine It. Create It. We believe in the power of imagination and the endless possibilities that coding offers to bring those imaginations to life.
Kids can choose any one of the following languages and complete the project under the given topic.
ScratchJr - Fruit Catcher
Description: Create a game where the main character catches falling fruits before they hit the ground.
Scratch - Superhero Rescue
Objective: Help a superhero rescue people in danger across the city.
Description: The player should control a superhero character who is tasked with rescuing people in various dangerous situations across different locations in the city. This can involve navigating through obstacles or completing certain tasks to bring them to safe zones.
AppInventor - Virtual Trainer
Objective: Provide users with a convenient and interactive platform for performing guided workout routines
Description: Create an app with a user-friendly interface to promote fitness and healthy living by offering a variety of exercises. The app can include any/all of the below features through animations and audio. You can also add your own ideas to this.

Option 1: Recycling Calculator
Objective: Develop a dynamic webpage/desktop app that helps users calculate the amount of waste recycled based on their input of different recyclable items.
Description: The page should allow users to enter the quantities (in kilograms) of four types of recyclable items: Paper, Plastic, Glass, and Metal. Each item has a specific recycling rate:
Paper: 60%
Plastic: 30%
Glass: 40%
Metal: 50%
Upon entering the quantities for each item and clicking the "Calculate" button, the webpage should compute and display: The quantity of each recyclable item recycled and the total amount of waste recycled, calculated based on the entered quantities and recycling rates.
Option 2: ChatBot
Objective: Develop a simple conversational chatbot designed to engage kids in interactive and educational conversations, providing personalized responses to various queries.
Description: Upon launching the program, the chatbot introduces itself with a friendly greeting and prompts the young user to enter their name to personalize the interaction. Once the user's name is obtained, the chatbot responds to a variety of queries relevant to kids' interests, ensuring to handle greetings, personal questions, weather inquiries, jokes, farewells, and more complex inquiries about itself.
Code It 2.0 was an exciting opportunity for kids to showcase their talents, coding skills and creativity.
