At eduSeed, we recognize that equipping children with coding skills goes beyond mere technical knowledge; it’s about nurturing a comprehensive set of life skills that will serve them in an increasingly digital future. Inspired by Ellen Galinsky’s influential work, “Mind in the Making,” we’ve tailored our curriculum to integrate the seven essential life skills crucial for success in the 21st century. Mind in the Making,” by Ellen Galinsky emphasizes the importance of teaching children executive skills like focus, self-control, and problem-solving. It suggests that these skills, nurtured through engaging activities and mindful parenting, contribute significantly to a child’s development and future success. This approach not only enhances coding proficiency but also fosters personal growth and resilience. Here’s how we apply these principles to our coding programs, creating a unique learning experience for our young innovators. 

1. Focus and Self-Control

In the Classroom: Coding requires children to concentrate on tasks while managing distractions, which is the key for debugging and developing algorithms. Through engaging and interactive coding challenges, students learn to navigate distractions and stay committed to solving complex problems.

Parenting Tip: Encourage your child to engage in short, coding focused activities at home. Start with simple tasks and gradually increase the complexity, reinforcing the value of persistence and attention to detail.

2. Perspective Taking
