Aditri’s Journey: An Inspiring Young Coder’s Path to Leadership

Who is Aditri?

Aditri Arun is a bright and ambitious 7th grader who originally hails from Tamil Nadu, India  and now resides in the vibrant city of New York. With her keen curiosity and natural enthusiasm, she is always eager to learn and explore new things. From a young age, Aditri developed a fascination for technology and coding, drawn in by the idea that she could create something amazing with just a few lines of code.

A Journey Begins: Discovering Coding

Aditri’s passion for coding began when she was a little girl. This early interest was encouraged by her parents, who provided her with resources and opportunities to learn. They recognized her enthusiasm and made sure she had the tools she needed to dive deeper into the world of technology. She began  Scratch with us when she was 8. And gradually she moved into Python.

As she honed her skills, Aditri’s excitement for coding only grew. She began tackling small projects and challenges, always eager to learn more. 

The Hackathon Experience

One of Aditri’s most thrilling experiences came when she decided to participate in the Long Island Code Conquest Hackathon, hosted by kidOYO. With a mix of nerves and excitement, she stepped into the role of team captain for the Codin’ Eagles.

Under Aditri’s leadership, the team thrived. They quickly gained confidence, working together to solve problems and create innovative projects. Throughout the competition, Aditri’s skills shone as her team dominated the leaderboard, holding the first-place position for most of the event. Ultimately, they finished with an impressive third place overall, also earning the title of Best Team in Suffolk County.

Aditri’s leadership and determination were key to their success. Her ability to keep the team focused and motivated demonstrated not only her technical skills but also her growing confidence as a leader.

Coding Whiz and Classroom Superstar!

While coding is a significant part of Aditri’s life, it’s not the only area where she excels. She is a well-rounded student who engages actively in her classes, always ready to participate and interact with her teachers and classmates. Aditri is known for asking thoughtful questions and contributing her ideas, making her a pleasure to have in any classroom.

Her curiosity extends beyond coding; Aditri enjoys exploring subjects like science and art. She believes that every experience adds to her understanding of the world, and she approaches each subject with enthusiasm.
